Shimla, Jan. 3 -- Ending a prolonged organisational vacuum, the Congress has appointed office-bearers of the District Congress Committees (DCCs) in Himachal Pradesh after a gap of nearly one year and three months.

The appointments were cleared by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) on December 27 following consultations with the state leadership and mark a significant step towards organisational restructuring ahead of crucial Panchayat elections.

According to the official communication, district presidents have been appointed in 11 districts of the state. The list includes Champa Thakur (Mandi), Anurag Sharma (Kangra), Suman Bharti Sharma (Hamirpur), Dorje Angrup (Lahaul & Spiti), Ses Ram Azad (Kullu), Surjeet Kumar Bharmouri (Chamba)...
