Kannur, March 22 -- BJP National executive committee member and former Kerala unit president P K Krishna Das on Friday alleged that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) and the Congress are engaged in an unholy nexus in Kerala to defeat BJP-led NDA in the Lok Sabha election.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Krishna Das said, "Based on the understanding between the Congress and the CPI(M) they are fielding weak candidates in places where they want to favour each other."

The Congress and CPI(M) announced on Friday that they will go head to head in 12 of the 20 constituencies in the state for the April 23 Lok Sabha elections.
