Nagpur, Dec. 11 -- Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Wadettiwar on Thursday alleged large-scale encroachment and irregularities involving temple lands across Maharashtra and demanded that the state government release a comprehensive white paper on the issue.
Speaking during the discussion on the Hyderabad Inam and Cash Grant (Repeal and Amendment) Bill in the ongoing winter session, Wadettiwar claimed that nearly half of the temple land in the state has been illegally taken over through collusion between administrative officials and political actors.
He stated that several cases involved document tampering, fraudulent registration, and misuse of authority.
