New Delhi, Jan. 29 -- The Congress on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of undermining parliamentary traditions and bypassing democratic consultation, as he addressed the media ahead of the new session of Parliament.

Congress leader Jasiram Ramesh alleged that the Prime Minister has consistently failed to take political parties into confidence on critical national issues, choosing not to convene or chair all-party meetings before parliamentary sessions.

"There is no attempt to build consensus. The Prime Minister simply does not believe in engaging the Opposition on matters of national importance," Ramesh said in a post on handle X.
