Chandrapur, Nov. 30 -- Congress MP Pratibha Dhanorkar on Saturday levelled serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in connection with the ongoing Municipal Council elections, claiming that the party is distributing money to influence voters.
Speaking to the media, Dhanorkar alleged that BJP workers were handing out Rs 2,000 tokens to voters before polling.
She claimed that once the vote was cast, these tokens were being exchanged for an additional Rs 3,000 effectively putting the price of one vote at Rs 5,000.
Her remarks triggered sharp reactions in local political circles, with the accusations further intensifying the already heated electoral atmosphere.
