Patna, Sept. 11 -- Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee president Rajesh Ram today accused the Nitish Kumar-Narendra Modi-led NDA government of unleashing a "lathi raj" in the state, where peaceful protesters are met with police batons and water cannons instead of dialogue.
Ram said that the double-engine government has turned authoritarian, crushing the voices of unemployed youth, students, farmers, ration dealers, emergency ambulance drivers, and contractual workers who are raising legitimate demands.
"Nitish Kumar, once called Sushasan Babu, has now become a symbol of repression, while Modi's so-called Amrit Kaal in Bihar has descended into an era of police brutality," he alleged.
