Chandigarh, Nov. 19 -- Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira has launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing the Aam Aadmi Party government of double standards in its handling of gangster-related violence in Punjab.

In a statement, Khaira alleged that organised crime is escalating across the state while the Punjab Police is being deployed for political agendas and VVIP comfort instead of maintaining public safety.

Khaira, MLA of Bholanath constituency, questioned the recent suspension of IPS officer Maninder Singh, calling it a political move rather than an attempt to control gangsters.
