Bhopal, July 31 -- Madhya Pradesh's principal-opposition Congress staged a walkout in the Assembly today after accusing the government of being apathetic vis-a-vis the law and order situation.

Through the medium of a calling attention notice, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, members Phool Singh Baraiya and Jaivardhan Singh (all Cong) sought to draw Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's attention to the situation.

"The police administration is proving unsuccessful in checking criminal incidents. Cyber crimes are on the upward spiral. People are being framed in false cases due to political pressure. Vehicles are sent to police stations for releasing criminals who enjoy the protection of ministers," Singhar alleged.
