Mangaluru, Oct. 4 -- In a major organisational push ahead of the forthcoming Karnataka Assembly elections, the state Congress unit today announced plans to appoint a fresh set of booth-level agents (BLAs) across all constituencies and train them on party ideology and election preparedness.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Campaign Committee chairman Vinay Kumar Sorake, speaking at a press conference, said the move is part of a systematic strategy to energise the party's grassroots presence.

"The new BLAs will undergo structured training programmes. They will be made aware that the Indian Constitution is the guiding ideology of the Congress," Sorake said.
