Bengaluru, Jan. 11 -- The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the NDA leadership in the state, accusing them of "intellectual bankruptcy" for calling an open debate on the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
Senior Congress leader Ramesh Babu said union Minister HD Kumaraswamy, Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa and Leader of the Opposition R Ashok had sought an open debate through a joint press conference, despite the Congress government already offering such an opportunity through a special session of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
