New Delhi, May 29 -- The Congress on Thursday disputed government's announcement of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Kharif crops and accused the Modi government of "cheating" the farmers under the name of offering cost plus 50 percent profit.
Addressing a press conference at the AICC office here, Congress general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala called the Minimum Support Price as "Maximum Suffering for Producers".
"Farmers in the country are being cheated in the name of cost plus 50% profit. They are shedding tears for the purchase of crops at MSP, while Modi ji is making hollow promises about doubling farmers' income," he alleged.
