Nagpur/Akola, July 29 -- Maharashtra Congress President Harshwardhan Sapkal today strongly condemned the recent mob lynching incident in Khamgaon, Akola district and held Maharashtra's Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis accountable for the growing atmosphere of lawlessness in the state.
Speaking to reporters, Sapkal said that under Fadnavis' leadership, the Home Department has failed to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
He said that the horrific lynching in Khamgaon is not an isolated event, it is a direct consequence of the ongoing encouragement to mob mentality and the weakening of democratic values.
