Bengaluru, Jan. 27 -- BJP MP PC Mohan on Tuesday stepped up his attack on the Congress over the controversy surrounding the renaming of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), accusing the party of political hypocrisy and selective outrage over the use of Mahatma Gandhi's name.
In a series of posts on social media, Mohan alleged that the Congress opposed the renaming of MGNREGA as VB-G RAM while remaining silent when Gandhinagar Ward in Bengaluru was renamed as Nehru Nagar under a Congress-led dispensation. "Congress cries over MGNREGA's renaming but quietly removes Gandhi by renaming Gandhinagar Ward as Nehru Nagar in Bengaluru. Same act, different tears," he said.
