Hyderabad, Aug. 20 -- The Telangana Congress MPs' agitation over the shortage of urea has yielded results, with the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers J P Nadda approving the supply of 50,000 metric tons of urea to the state this week.
Officials said that a shipment of 10,800 metric tons of urea from Karnataka has already begun, while Coromandel International Limited has been directed to dispatch three additional consignments within the week.
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao congratulated the MPs for raising the issue in Parliament and bringing national attention to the plight of Telangana farmers. He said farmers had been suffering due to the Centre's discrimination in not supplying the state's allocated urea on time....
