Agartala, March 9 -- Maintaining the alliance spirit of INDIA Blok, Congress declared that Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and veteran Congress leader Ashis Kumar Saha as its candidate for the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday, keeping East Tripura (ST) seat open for CPM.
TPCC leaders here said as decided in the anti-BJP alliance, two main oppositions - CPM and Congress have agreed to fight one seat each in the upcoming Lok Sabha poll to consolidate the opposition votes. The discussion in this regard happened in stages at both the central and state levels.
