New Delhi, Feb. 15 -- Congress on Saturday demanded regulation of private coaching centres across the country, accusing them of resorting to crass profiteering and exploiting innocent and gullible people.
Addressing a press conference at the AICC office here, party leader Kanhaiya Kumar said that the coaching institutes had mushroomed across the country and were exploiting students and "some of them even vanishing within no time after charging hefty fees".
Kumar said that the youth of the country were driven so much towards desperation that students are committing suicide in the country.
He said that the government should take responsibility for such alarming rate of students' suicide as it is the result of systematic failure.
