Mumbai, Nov. 19 -- Disagreements among Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) partners continue ahead of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections.
Mumbai Congress President Varsha Gaikwad met NCP faction chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday and reiterated that her party would not remain in the alliance if the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena stays aligned with Shiv Sena (UBT).
After meeting Pawar, Gaikwad told media that elections for the 227-seat civic body are expected in January 2026. She said the NCP, Samajwadi Party, and Congress share similar political values and have cooperated in several previous polls. Shiv Sena (UBT), she noted, already has understandings within the MVA framework on comparable issues.
