New Delhi, Jan. 13 -- Leaders of the INDIA alliance on Saturday agreed upon the name of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge as the Chairman of the bloc but it has not been officially announced yet.

The name of Kharge as Chairman of the alliance was proposed by Janata Dal (U) President Nitish Kumar and said that the largest constituent party, Congress, should lead the alliance.

In the meeting, which was held virtually, a proposal was also made to make the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as the convenor, to which the leaders of all the parties agreed, but Nitish Kumar refused to take the responsibility of becoming the convenor.

There was also discussion regarding distribution of seats.
