Tumakuru, Dec. 13 -- union Minister of State V Somanna on Saturday made a significant disclosure by claiming that Congress leaders had supported his electoral victory in Tumakuru, even as he said he personally wished Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara to become the Chief Minister, remarks that came amid the ongoing political storm over leadership in the state.
Addressing a public gathering after performing the ground-breaking ceremony for a railway overbridge project at Heggere near Tumakuru, Somanna said Parameshwara was a "fortunate Home Minister" and added that he harboured a personal desire to see him lead the state. He said this view was not limited to him alone but also reflected the opinion of the people of Tumakuru.
