Puducherry, Sept. 28 -- The ruling Congress Party and its allies in the Union territory on Monday held a demonstration in front of the head post office to protest against the farm bills passed in the Parliament and approved by Presdent Ram Nath Kovind.
Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, Congress legislator K Lakshminarayanan and leaders of alliance partners ----DMK, CPI, CPI(M), VCK and among others participated in the demonstration and shouted slogans against the Union government demanding the withdrawal of the bills.
The participants held the demonstration by maintaining social distancing.
Earlier, their temperature was checked with a thermal scanner before allowing them to participate in the demonstration.
