Sangli, Oct. 2 -- Maharashtra and District Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil today directed the field officers of the Revenue, Rural Development and Agriculture departments to conduct joint 'panchnamas' within eight days to assess the losses suffered by the farmers due to recent heavy rains in the district and all the relevant agencies should work sensitively so that compensation is deposited in the bank accounts of affected farmers before Diwali.
While addressing a review meeting at district collector's office held here to assess the situation arisen due to heavy rainfall in the district, he assured that the government and the local administration are firmly behind the farmers who have suffered losses due to heavy rains in the district....
