Shimla, Aug. 20 -- Serious concerns were raised in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly today over the alleged molestation of a minor girl at an orphanage in Bharmour, Chamba district.
Raising the issue after Question Hour, local MLA Dr. Janak Raj accused the Single Line Administration of gross negligence and demanded stern action against the accused, along with urgent corrective measures to ensure the safety of children in orphanages across the state.
Dr. Raj said the incident has shaken public faith and highlighted major loopholes in the functioning of orphanages located in remote tribal areas.
