Shimla, May 31 -- The consumers in the state have to pay the refundable prices while buying products in the plastic bottles and containers under a new pilot scheme approved by the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet on Saturday, aiming to tackle mounting non-biodegradable waste through the Deposit Refund Scheme 2025. Under the scheme, consumers would pay an extra amount while buying products in glass bottles, plastic beverage containers, aluminium cans, flexible and multilayered packaging, which will be refunded on returning the used container.
