Colombo, June 4 -- The All Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange reached an all-time high on Tuesday, the country's financial press said, citing official data.

The ASPI rose by 234.50 points during the day to close at 17,214.39, with a turnover of 7.3 billion rupees (approximately 24.4 million U.S. dollars), the data shows.

The previous all-time high of 17,193.80 points was recorded on Feb. 18, 2025.

Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 increased by 108.53 points (2.1 percent) to reach 5,143.45 at the close of trading.

The ASPI measures overall market performance, while the S&P SL20 tracks the performance of 20 leading publicly traded companies listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
