Berlin, March 23 -- Cologne has parted ways with head coach Lukas Kwasniok as the Bundesliga side seeks a late-season turnaround in its fight to avoid relegation.

The decision came shortly after a dramatic 3-3 draw with rival Borussia Monchengladbach, a result that extended Cologne's winless run to six matches despite a spirited comeback.

Sporting director Thomas Kessler said the club had conducted an intensive review of its situation before opting to make a change on the touchline.
