Balasore, July 12 -- In a shocking incident at Fakir Mohan Autonomous College, a second-year Integrated B.Ed student attempted self-immolation in front of the Principal's office today, alleging mental harassment by a faculty member. The student, identified as Soumashree Bisi, had been staging a sit-in protest for the past week, demanding justice. Today, she suddenly poured petrol on herself and set herself on fire, leaving her classmates and college staff members in shock. Soumashree sustained over 90 percent burn injuries and was initially admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
