Lucknow, Jan. 12 -- After a few days of bright sunshine, winter is set to return to Uttar Pradesh.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of dense to very dense fog in several parts of the state. Severe cold wave conditions are possible at one or two places in western Uttar Pradesh.
This change in weather is expected from Monday due to the weakening of the Western Disturbance. The increase in maximum temperatures in the past few days was due to the active Western Disturbance, which had temporarily kept the cold wave at bay.
However, now with the strengthening of north-westerly winds, the cold will intensify, and temperatures may drop by 2 to 3 degree Celsius.
