Pune, Dec. 2 -- The impact of weather conditions caused by Cyclone Hitvaha has now subsided, and a cold wave is expected to prevail across most parts of Maharashtra.

This cold spell is likely to continue until the end of December, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

Cyclone Hitvaha, which formed over the Bay of Bengal and wreaked havoc in Sri Lanka, had led to a rise in temperatures and cloudy conditions in some regions of Maharashtra. Coastal areas were also alerted about the possibility of rainfall. However, this influence has now completely diminished.
