Kolkata, Dec. 4 -- Minimum temperatures dipped across several parts of Gangetic WestBengal on Thursday, signalling the steady arrival of colder conditions in the region.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the chill is expected to intensify over the next two days, with the mercury likely to fall by another two degrees Celsius in many districts of south Bengal.

The IMD, however, clarified that sub-Himalayan West Bengal is unlikely to experience any significant drop in temperature during this period.

While parts of north Bengal remain comparatively stable, most areas of the state are set to witness persistently dry weather over the next week.
