Ranchi, Dec. 4 -- Cold weather conditions have tightened their grip across Jharkhand, with north-westerly icy winds causing temperatures to plummet sharply during morning and evening hours.

Dry conditions and continuous cold winds have intensified the winter chill, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert for a cold wave in Ranchi and six other districts-Garhwa, Palamu, Simdega, Chatra, Latehar, Lohardaga, and Gumla-for the next two days.
