Ranchi, Dec. 29 -- An elderly woman reportedly died due to extreme cold in Titahi village of Singrawan panchayat under Chauparan block, triggering sharp criticism of the administration over alleged failure to provide winter relief.
The deceased has been identified as Meena Devi (around 60), wife of Govind Bhuiyan.
Reacting to the death, Rajendra Chandravanshi, former president of BJP Chauparan East Mandal, expressed deep sorrow and questioned the preparedness and sensitivity of the administration. He alleged that despite December nearing its end, blankets have not been distributed among the poor and needy, reflecting administrative apathy.
