Shimla, Feb. 6 -- Himachal Pradesh is expected to witness a predominantly cold and dry spell through most of February, with night temperatures remaining low and rainfall activity largely subdued, according to the extended range forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre Shimla.

The forecast indicates that during February 6 to 12, light to moderate rain may occur over parts of the state in the latter half of the week, though the overall rainfall anomaly is likely to remain below normal.

The period from February 13 to 19 may see only light rainfall at isolated places, with normal rainfall confined mainly to some low hill and plain areas and below-normal rainfall over most mid and high hill regions.
