New Delhi, Jan. 8 -- Delhi woke up to a chilly winter morning on Thursday, as mercury dipped to 4.8degC. Cool breeze blew over the city, keeping the air less toxic.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the minimum temperatures at weather stations across the national capital ranged between 4.8degC and 6.0degC, intensifying the winter chill experienced by residents in January.
