Lucknow, Dec. 21 -- Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday alleged that the illegal trade in Codeine syrup is taking place in Prime Minister Naraendra Modi's constituency of Varanasi.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the illegal trade of codeine cough syrup has spread to the Prime Minister's parliamentary constituency and is worth thousands of crores of rupees.
Talking to media here on Saturday, he said: "If the government is truly against the mafia, then bulldozers should be used on the houses of all those whose pictures are being shown with me. Whether it's 'Kaleen Bhaiya' or 'Codeine Bhaiya', equal action should be taken against every person involved in this illegal business," he demanded.
