Kochi, Aug. 14 -- The Coconut Development Board (CDB), in collaboration with New India Insurance Company, has launched the modified Kera Suraksha Insurance Scheme for workers in the coconut sector, offering enhanced insurance coverage of up to Rs 7 lakh.

Under the revised scheme, which will come into effect on August 15, 2025, labourers will receive accident insurance benefits, including Rs 7 lakh in the event of death or permanent disability, Rs 3.5 lakh for partial disability, and up to Rs 2 lakh for accident-related medical expenses.
