Imphal, May 8 -- The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on Thursday called for an immediate national response over the alleged involvement of Myanmar-based armed groups in attacks on villages along the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur's Kamjong district today.

The statement was issued by Ph. Shyamchand, Convenor of the IPR Sub-Committee of COCOMI.

The demand comes amid reports of coordinated attacks on border villages including Namlee, Wanglee, Choro and adjoining areas forcing villagers to flee into nearby forests while several houses were allegedly set ablaze.
