Imphal, Dec. 17 -- The Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has strongly condemned the armed firing and bombing incident that occurred at Torbung in Bishnupur district on the evening of Tuesday terming it a "grave violation of constitutional rights and a serious threat to public safety".
L Jayenta of COCOMI stated that the incident, which took place around 8.30 pm, terrorised innocent civilians and disrupted public order.
According to the committee, armed individuals suspected to be linked with Kuki militant elements carried out indiscriminate firing and explosive attacks in civilian areas, creating widespread fear and endangering lives.
