Imphal, April 19 -- The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), a conglomeration of civil societies of Manipur on Sunday announced a boycott of the Bharatiya Janata Party. It also urged the people of Manipur to refrain from participating in any activities associated with the party or its leaders.

Leaders of the COCOMI at a press conference, criticised the initiatives of the government alleging that it has allowed armed militants to operate with impunity and contributed to escalating violence in the state.

COCOMI cited the recent ambush along the Ukhrul-Litan Road , killing of two children as evidence that militant activities remain unchecked despite repeated assurances from the government.
