Hyderabad, March 2 -- Cochlear on Monday announced the launch of Cochlear (TM) Nucleus(R) Nexa(R) System in India, describing it as the world's first and only smart cochlear implant system, coinciding with World Hearing Day.

In a release, the company said the new system is the first hearing implant to feature internal memory and upgradeable firmware, enabling users to receive future technological updates without replacing the implant.

The device also includes onboard diagnostics, dynamic power management, and a new RF link technology aimed at improving performance and battery efficiency.
