Kochi, Oct. 30 -- The Cochin Port Authority (CoPA) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop LNG bunkering facilities for LNG-powered and dual-fuel vessels at Mumbai's outer anchorage, inner port limits, and the Petronet LNG Ltd Jetty.

The project, estimated at Rs 500 crore, aims to promote clean fuel adoption in maritime transport and strengthen India's green port initiatives in line with global environmental norms.

The project is expected to commence by the end of this year and generate significant direct and indirect employment, a release said.
