Bengaluru, Dec. 9 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday unveiled the world's second-largest Khadi Tricolour on the western steps of the Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi, emphasising that the saffron band of the national flag stands as a powerful symbol of sacrifice and courage.
Addressing the gathering after the unveiling, the Chief Minister said the massive Khadi flag was not just a ceremonial installation but a reminder of India's freedom struggle and the values that shaped the nation.
"The saffron represents sacrifice and the unshakeable spirit of those who laid down their lives for the country," he said, adding that the white symbolises peace and truth, while the green reflects prosperity and growth.
