Kannur, Sept. 26 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the renovated Kannur Cooperative Spinning Mill at Chovva on October 1.
Addressing a press conference, Mill Chairman Prakash said the spinning mill has been renovated under the second phase of its development project, with modern machinery imported from Japan and Italy to enhance production.
All machinery over 40 years old has been replaced. The second phase of renovation, launched in 2019 at a cost of Rs 20.68 crore, was completed in August.
Fully automated equipment has increased the mill's production capacity from three tons to four tons of yarn per day.
Currently, the mill is operating profitably, with no unsold stock, due to the high quality of its products....
