Srinagar, Oct. 6 -- The 69th National School Games were inaugurated today, drawing participation from 30 teams representing states and union Territories across India.

Matches are scheduled across six venues, featuring competitions in Football, Wushu, Taekwondo and Table Tennis.

Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today officially declared open the 69th National School Games at TRC Football Ground, Srinagar, by ceremonially kicking a football, marking the formal commencement of the national-level sporting event.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that sports play a vital role in fostering unity, friendship and understanding among young people from diverse regions of the country.
