Lucknow, July 19 -- The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's Office has raised serious concerns over the increasing accidents caused by open manholes in Lucknow amid the ongoing monsoon.
Taking swift action, the state's Urban Development Department has been asked to submit a comprehensive report within a week.
Principal Secretary to the CM, Sanjay Prasad, has written to Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar, ordering an investigation report within seven days.
The letter also mandates urgent repairs of dangerous drains and the covering of all exposed manholes across the city.
Following Prasad's directives, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation has sprung into action, launching an intensive citywide campaign to fix and secure drains.
