Chandigarh, Nov. 29 -- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday outlined an ambitious statewide road infrastructure programme while simultaneously hardening his tone against criminal networks.

Speaking at a press briefing in Chandigarh, he said the state is set to rebuild and upgrade 44,920 kilometres of roadways, marking one of the largest such initiatives in Punjab's recent history.

According to the Chief Minister, the plan includes works by the Punjab Mandi Board, PWD, urban local bodies and panchayats, supported by a combined outlay exceeding Rs16,000 crore.
