Hyderabad, March 26 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy addressed the Legislative Council on Wednesday, shedding light on the worrying state of the education system in the state.

Citing the 2021 National Achievement Survey, he revealed that a majority of students in Class 3 and 5 failed to achieve even basic competency in key subjects.

According to the survey, Telangana ranked 36th in Telugu, English, and Hindi for Class 3 and Class 5, 35th in Mathematics, and 36th in Environmental Science (EVS). The Chief Minister also highlighted a steep decline in foundational literacy and numeracy levels among students over the years.
