New Delhi, Sept. 26 -- In the very first meeting of the newly formed Delhi Rural Development Board, more than 431 projects worth over Rs 1,000 crore have been approved for the development of the national capital's rural belt, which comprises of around 360 villages.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who chaired the meeting of the board has said that villages are not only symbols of tradition, and culture, but also the lifeline of Delhi.
She said that the government's goal is to strengthen basic infrastructure in the rural areas and speed up development work, assuring that there will be no shortage of funds for development of the villages.
Delhi government officials said that area - wise plans will be prepared for the villages.
