Shillong, July 24 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting and directed Deputy Commissioners and State police to be on high alert to prevent entry of illegal immigrants from neighbouring Assam.



The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and was attended by the Chief Secretary Donald Philips Wahlang, Director General of Police Idashisha Nongrang, Additional Chief Secretary Shakil P Ahammed, Deputy Commissioners, officials from the political department and other senior officials from the state.



Sangma said the review meeting was held to ensure that no infiltration takes place in Meghalaya.
