Shimla, March 25 -- Concluding a three-day budget discussion in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu defended his government's fiscal management and announced a vigilance probe into irregularities in the Himcare scheme. Around 35 members participated in the deliberations for nearly 14 hours.

The Chief Minister informed the House that an audit had detected irregularities of about Rs 100 crore out of a total expenditure of nearly Rs 1,100 crore under the Himcare scheme. He said a vigilance inquiry has been initiated and the report will be presented in the Assembly.
