Bengaluru, Nov. 22 -- Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah are at the centre of discussions over the leadership of the Karnataka Legislative Council as the ruling Congress party weighs changes to the Chairman and Deputy Chairman posts.
Selected Congress MLAs met Shivakumar, proposing that the party fill both the positions during the winter session in Belagavi starting December 8. However, Siddaramaiah's position on the matter is yet to be clarified.
A programme to honour incumbent Chairman Basavaraj Horatti is scheduled in Belagavi on Dec 13, with Siddaramaiah expected to attend. Several MLAs are reported to support Horatti, making it unlikely that the senior-most member will be abruptly removed during the s...
